I am a gardener artist. I see the process of nurturing and caring for soil and the seeds which germinate in her as a sister process to the one where I sit in my studio with colours and darkness, coaxing images to appear from the dark ground I prepare with watercolours and gum arabic, paint pencil and oil.
Places of Paradise are the ‘thin’ places on this Earth where I find deep sustenance and joy. They include Iona, Mull, all mountains, and especially Italy where I love to spend time in the National Parks.
