I had a very busy week teaching in St. Ives at the School of Painting, teaching a course on Dreamscapes, Memory, and exploring – expanding- consciousness through the creative process. It was a lovely group of people from all over the country. We worked with drawing in a number of ways: with the non-dominant hand, with closed eyes, with music, responding to the writings of Aboriginal peoples; to inner impulses, to dreams, and to personal memory. We made a shamanic walk together, focusing on walking, moving quietly along as one animal; some of us worked with the drum to find animal totems, whilst others worked with the monotype process to connect with the animal body.
I will be teaching a very similar course next July from the 8th – 11th at St. Ives School of Painting.
